In Memory
It is a sad fact that we are all getting older far too
quickly. In this section of the website we would like to pay tribute to Sligo
based musicians on whom the final curtain has come down all too soon.
If you would like pay tribute to someone by adding them to
this list,
let us know.
If the last name is highlighted, click on it
for more info!
We are trying to get photos of all musicians here. Please let
us know if you have one, we especially would like photos from the showband era.

Brothers, Brotherly Love
(Sadly passed away 13 Sept, 2008).
Gerry was lead guitarist with Sligo most famous (and successful)
family band, the Duggan Brothers. They started as young lads in
town and eventually crossed Ireland, playing their unique style
of close harmony pop music. Although Gerry gave up playing
professionally many years ago, he remained a fixture on the Sligo
and national scene as one of the country's top architects. |

scene for many years before retiring from playing several years before

Maisie enjoyed a very successful solo career before being asked
to join the Nevada, but she would never perform with the band as
she was injured in a car accident before their first gig. She would
also front her own Fendermen, as well as the Nashville Ramblers.
She often appeared with husband Fintan Stanley in cabaret.
She made a brief comeback on the scene in the 1980's but
had been retired from performing for many years. |
